Taken 2 is the second instalment in the Taken film series. It is the sequel to the 2008 film Taken and was released on 3 October 2012. The film received negative reviews. Despite this critical response, it was a major box office success, earning more than its predecessor, grossing over $376 million at the box office and being the highest grossing film of the series. A sequel was released in 2015.
